Released in 1985, the film marked the studio's entry into the field of computer-generated images. It was also the first Disney cartoon to get a PG rating. 2. The film was inspired by the five-volume mythological fantasy "The Chronicles Of Prydain," by Lloyd Alexander. 3. The film marked the development of the APT (Animation Photo Transfer) process. The first major change in the studio's method of transferring artists' drawings to a cel since photocopying replaced hand-inking 20 years earlier. 4.
